Malacca


Last thursday(1st May 2008) i went to malacca with a bunch of friends from my class, well... enough of mak nenek stories... and on with the pictures! =D

journey started at around 11am.. thank goodness i wasn`t sleepy while driving..


after an hour and a half`s drive(approx), we finally reached! :)


lo` and behold! we`ve reached, our friend here got too excited till she fainted =p


this is the guest house we were staying in, called Kancil Guest House, pictures below shows the interior of it. Picture tells a thousand words. So imagine yourself how the interiors are :)






the owner of this guest house is called En. Daud, a very friendly guy, likes to have small chats and give informations about malacca, like places to eat, places to go, and so on. And he likes to furnish his guest house(also his house) with antiques as you can see from pictures above. Lot`s of antiques, really a lot. Really a typical malacca native house, a very homely one too.

so after settling in, we finally got out of the house and wanted to start our expedition. Of all days, we decided to visit malacca ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY. Gosh! getting to the guest house was already a hassle, getting to places was even WORSE! Plus, it was burning HOT!! I wasn`t used to the weather where during the whole day, there weren`t a single drop of rain whereas in KL, in the morning it`ll be shiny, and in the evening, it`ll be pouring like mad! well, our 1st stop was to eat! We haven`t had our lunch, so we decided to go have lunch at this 'tong sui' shop(can`t remember wat`s the name of it.. something lao po tong sui)..


well.. the tong sui doesn`t live up to the name of the tong sui shop`s name. it was rather.. hmm... not nice? lol.. too watery.. lolx..

after that.. it was still SO BLAZING HOT, we decided to go to the new shopping mall called dataran pahlawan. More pics below! :)

while inside, a monkey stole the spotlight of our coolness. Dang! lol... this guy rared a monkey as a chi- uh i mean pet. lol. but his pet was practically his child. He even let him drink through a straw. my gosh.


we were so bored, i decided to sleep even while taking pictures. xD

well, after that we decided to go for dinner and head back to our guest house. We planned to actually "sleep" but rui yi had to charge her handphone, and the only place where there is the power socket is downstairs near our room(me and Hao Tian. the girls slept upstairs). so rui yi decided to invade our sleeping time and territory, and kacau our sleep while the other 2 girls are upstairs having their beauty sleep(i`m sooo jealous!! *sobs*). So we decided to play card games(where rui yi kept losing, wakakaka xD). After an hour or two, we decided to call the sleeping beauties, and go out for supper. A few blocks down the road, there was this "famous" satay celup shop. IMO, nothing to be so famous about also. lolx. it`s just satay sauce with lok lok kind of meats and all. well, more pics! :)

the next day, where the roads are finally clear and not jam, we decided to hit the "hotspots" of malacca. 1st up, Christ Church, Stadhyus, St. Paul`s church, and A`famosa. More pics! :)

outside the remains of the church, there was this guy selling souvenirs. My friends decided to buy some for their friends and family. They got this key chains where you can craft names on it. lol.. quite cool to see how he does it. :)


we finally went down to A`Famosa fort, and had more posing sessions. LOL! xD

we got even bored, so me and Hao Tian decided to pose alongside the "ancient" tank.


by gosh, i was really bored till i had time to change pose =p wonder how Hao Tian was able to remain the same position. hahaha =p

it was a hot day, and again, i decided to get an ice cream to eat =p yup! :)


and clara decides to come steal my ice cream.. noooooooooooo~~~ thank goodness i prevented her from taking a bite out of my ice cream.. =p

it was lunch time, so wat else but....

I was feeling sick through out the whole day(but i can still pose in pictures.. =.="). I was down with flu and sore throat. So after lunch, we headed back to the guest house and rested. I slept, woke up, and felt better. Lolx.. speedy recovery xD

Dinner time! we were constantly nagged by En. Daun.ops.Daud(=p) to go have a taste of malacca`s famous nonya food at this restaurant called Ole Ole Sayang. And so we went. we went in with high hopes of the restaurant...............





and came out disappointed. lolx. really. The food wasn`t anything special, and the price for the meal was RM60+ for only 3 SMALL SIZED dishes!!! ya ampun!! =.=''

after dinner, we headed to jonker walk for the friday night pasar malam.
we parked the car opposite the church of St. Xavier, and decided to pose with the church and its beautiful lights before heading towards jonker walk.

well.. unfortunately, the cameraman/woman was too busy shopping and finding for food, she forgot to take pictures of our pasar malam expedition. lol. hmm.. wait-a-minute, i was having the camera. Oooohhh...~~ ops.. =p *blush* sorry yea.. was hungry, plus, dinner wasn`t filling.. lolx.. plus, the camera owner also was busy finding for food/shopping. So not fully my fault =p haha.

after the pasar malam, we went to this jetty to get some fresh sea air. Only to find out, it wasn`t windy.... =.=" well, the 1st picture of this post is at the jetty where we hanged out, and 'yam cha-ed". It was a cafe on the jetty(sorry, again no pics of the jetty =p). So we decided to have a drink there, and we each(except clara) ordered ice blended drinks which cost RM5 each. when the guy came with the bill, it was RM23, so i gave RM50. After 10 minutes, he came back with the change of 2 RM10 notes, one RM5 note, and 2bucks worth of coins. My first reaction was to take the notes first then only the coins. So i took the notes, the waiter then mumbled some chinese words which at first hearing i couldn`t decipher but after much thought i figured out he said "bu yao le hor?", and walked off with my coins untaken. i was like, WTCRAP!!!!! MY RM2!!!!!!!!!! hey! not that i`m stingy ok, but in the bill they already counted service charge and all, and plus, he didn`t even give me time to answer him back whether i still want the coins or not. He just mumbled those words and walked off. I didn`t even had time to figure out what he said, yet to reply him. WTCRAP!!!!! WTCRAP!!!!!!! oh well... thank goodness i`m not the kind that makes a scene. lolx.. and that waiter should be fired. fired! fired! fired! fired! FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh well, that aside, we headed home, and got our rest. Did we? lol. not me and Hao Tian. lolx. We were about to sleep, but decided to play cards and chat. lolx. Guy/gay bonding. eee~~ not so gay la.. lolx. guy bonding k? ;) haha. plus, we`re the only 2 guys in our class. So, we should bond more. lolx.. but not till we`re gay la. haha :)

the next morning? what else, but to go home! after a normal breakfast! we headed home.

so says the sign(though the word 'lagi' has been cut by Hao Tian =p), sila datang lagi! :) lolx.. will we? will i? lol.. maybe? haha :) well, with that picture, so ends our trip to Malacca.

a great bunch of friends these guys are. some have their own weakness, but none-the-less, we focus more on our strenghts than our weakness. plus, they`re a bunch of fun people to hang out with where we can do crazy stuff where most of those crazy things we wont see during class times. hehe. :)
