Monday. I have 3 classes. Standard 1 Mozart vocal lesson, Year 5 International students vocal lesson, and year 6 International Students vocal lesson. In the vocal Lesson, we part time teachers are supposed to teach the kids simple songs, play musical games. So yes, my first class of the whole week and my most favourite class, Standard 1 Mozart! Hehe.. I just love that class! The students there are so cute and adorable ^^ There`s this 2 girls, cheryl and rachel (in my previous post i mentioned that they were always mistakened as twins). Cheryl looks very much like my cousin zian (as i`ve said before) and rachel is just, well... manja. haha.. Cheryl is very smart especially in music. She`s the one always answering the questions i ask in class. And she is like the dai gar jie of Rachel (from my observation la.. lols..) Rachel being the manja manja one is always taken care of by Cheryl. And they`re constantly together. Without fail. lol! Btw Cheryl was the one who keeps coming up to me and say "Teacher your marking so small wan.. hehehehehhe". Then there is this other boy Kok Yang. Very outspoken boy. He was the first boy who came up to me and ask "teacher what`s your name?" haha.. :) He`s a very helpful boy. I remember my vocal class with him, he likes to run into the vocal studio before i enter and then on the lights and aircond, and then rub the whiteboard if there`s anything written on it. Hehe. :) These 3 students are considered my favourite students. hehe.. :p so bad right? playing favourites. haha :D oh well.. i`m sure other teachers do have their favourites.. ;)

Then there`s Year 5 International students vocal class. Well, this class is not really a bad class. There`s this 2 boys fin and dewey, who are monstrous but other than that they seem nice. lol! They`re quite inseperable and they`re quite a havoc once together. haha. There`s this one girl Ruth (who they also call ruffy) who`s african american (i think) who is the only girl fierce enough to tame the 2 boys. Haha! i should thank her a lot! :D Oh i remember now the name of the student who gave me the cupcake/muffin for teachers day. This girl from this class Kaede (pronounced kay dee). She reminds me of a smaller and younger version of Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical. Seriously! lol.. Must take a picture of her and prove it one day. haha :)

Then there`s Year 6 International students vocal class. There`s this one boy (who i can`t remember the name) who has a attained his diploma certificate by ABRSM (i think) in drums! So cool!!!!!! And i heard him play, super geng!! Apparently he got a scholarship into Sri Cempaka. Super geng!! Lol.. I`ve had not much time with this class though, so can`t really say much about the students.

Friday, I have Standard 1 Mozart again but now is their instrumental lesson. These instrumental lessons are originally classes where they learn how to play the recorder or the violin. But now as the permanent teachers are busy with the school`s upcoming musical production "Fame", we part timers are in charge of teaching the students theory. Then I have Standard 1 Beethoven for instrumental lesson (again theory). 1 Beethoven. Hmm... In comparison to 1 Mozart, 1 Beethoven are like monsters! Lol! But they`re not really that bad either comparing to other classes i have. 

Tuesday... well... I have Std 3 Aer, 4 Aqua, 5 Terra, and 6 Terra where all classes are instrumental, and 2 terra vocal class. 3 Aer, not really a bad class. This boy Tian Qi, quite rebelious. Then there`s this boy Ranen (cool name right?? lol!), nice boy. But quite playful. So must control him a bit. hehe..

4 Aqua. This boy Andy Lau. Terrible boy! Super super rude. And according to the previous teachers, i have to be very careful with him. He likes to show that he`s the "Dai Gor" around. Very rude too. Lol.. Caught him saying bad words in class.. tsk tsk.. But the teacher also said that if you`re "fren fren" with him then he will be "fren fren" with you too.. if not.. he`ll make a havoc. Lol.. hmm.. Hard situation.. On one side, i have to be "fren fren" with him, but on the other side, i can`t let him be to "fren fren" also cos if not he`ll take control over me! :S lol..

5 Terra. Very VERY tame class. Students there are intelligent! Not much to say though.. lol.. had only 1 class with them so far..

6 Terra. The WORST class i have. Very very very VERY arrogant class. Some students are just plain arrogant.. And they make noise like nobody`s business! :S can`t even keep quiet for 5 minutes! While i`m teaching some students can just walk around and mingle with their classmates. =.='' my goodness!!! Standard 6 oni wei!!! if like form 4 form 5 then okay la... Standard 6!!!! =.='' ya ampun......

2 terra Vocal class. This class is my 2nd most favourite class. hehe.. can`t remember the names of the students though. I remember one girl has the same bottle water as me except hers is smaller. And the students keep pointing that out to me. Haha! Must make a point to remember the names of the students.. hehe.. there`s this 2 girls very clingy to me.. Everytime play a circle game where we form a circle, they like to stand or sit beside me. =.='' and slowly slowly they`ll come closer to me and cling on me.. =.='' lol.. cute though.. haha :D

Today was the third day i taught at Sri Cempaka International School as a music teacher, and i`m liking it so far! :)

Today I woke up pretty earlohsorry late.. haha.. well.. initially i planned to wake up at 6.45 and leave home together with my sister at 7.20am so we could go for breakfast at hen kee before heading to work. BUT......

*alarm rings*

*wakes up.. hits the snooze button.. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz*

*alarm rings again*

*hits the snoozeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzz*

*alarm rings yet again*

*snzzzzzzzz*

*alarm rings for the last time.. it was around 7.10*

*thinks in my head.. "late ad......... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

*silence....*

*thinks in my head "hmm... somethings not right..." checks time......*

7.15am.. 

oh my goodness.... lol.. so much for breakfast at hen kee... haha.. in the end we left home at 7.45.. and went to mc donalds drive through and bought sausage mc muffins.. 

well.. i went to school as usual.. not knowing that it was actually teachers day, untill i had my first class at 10.20am where this boy kok yong comes up to me and say "teacher!!! happy teachers day!!" hehe.. so cute.. well.. i said thank you.. and the day went on.. and eventually i managed to forget that it was teachers day halfway through teaching.. haha.. seriously.. i forgot that it was teachers day even though this boy has already wished me happy teachers day. And in the end i was reminded that it was teachers day once again by this girl (which i can`t remember her name..) who came up to me while i was talking to one of the permanent teacher, wished me "happy teachers day" and in the same time saying "teacher, this one for you" *hands me a muffin/cupcake*..  :D how cute is that! haha.. boy was i surprised and happy.. :) so.. yea.. the picture you see above, is the cupcake/muffin my student gave me.. i really must remember this girl`s name.. i know she`s from the year 5 as i taught that class vocal lessons (the ones where we play musical games and all sorts), but i don`t seem to remember her name.. lol.. i`m bad at names.. well talking about names, i managed to remember a few today! :)

There was this boy Kok Yang, from year 1 Mozart. Somehow he seems to me like one boy i will remember easily.. haha.. Very outspoken boy. He was the first to come up to me and ask my name even before class started.

Then there`s this girl (also from year 1 Mozart) which in my previous post i said she kept saying "Teacher, you mark so small wan.. hehehehehe" where ever we meet and i will reply "yes yes.. now getting bigger already..." haha! Her name is Cheryl Chin, apparently she`s "twins" with this other girl in the class Rachel (but they`re not blood related). Reason why? They say the previous teachers kept mixing them up as they look quite alike. haha! But this girl, Cheryl, reminds me of my cousin Zian. Seriously!! I must take a photo of this girl and show my cousin! haha :D

My first day was Monday (11th May 2009), and my first class was at 9am.. I was assisted by a full time teacher, Mr. Spencer, and we were teaching Year 1 Mozart. These bunch of kids are the best! haha.. The class was supposed to be a vocal class where we sing and play. So we teachers come up with songs like "I want to be your friend, a little bit more" or any of those sort, and we play it in class. I have a WHOLE stack of them musical games. Still have yet to finish learning it. Haha! :) however, for this class, we gave them a test, and they went "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~~~~~ *instert whining and complaining*".. haha so cute! hehe.. but still, we had to go through the test. So as this was my first lesson, Mr. Spencer lead the class as i watched from the side (or behind) the class. From time to time i slowly learn to interact with the kids and slowly guide them. After they`ve done their test, some of them went to Mr. Spencer to check the answers and let him mark them. As they were many of them, some came to me and so yes i marked their papers. Hehe. While i was marking the kids` papers, some of them kept on saying "teacher, why you always mark so small wan?" haha... yes my marking was small (i think) and throughout the whole day if i ever passed any of them, they will keep on saying "teacher, your marking very small wan." Haha! Cute.. :)

The worse class came after that where it was the year fives international students. There were these two MONSTERS which were litterally the monsters of the class. haha.. well.. I was guided by 2 full time teachers, so the lead the class first and then slowly i took on some teaching too. And they gave me a tip that if any kid is naughty, just tell them "if you do that again i`ll send you to Mr. Andrew`s office." This line apparently will totally keep them shut. I still have yet to tried it though. Haha! :) Mr. Andrew is the head of the CPAC (Cempaka Performing Arts Centre) Well, the other classes after that on that day was well... tolerable :) haha..

Tuesday was quite a good and industrious day for me. I was given the opportunity to take on 2 teaching lesson by myself where the full time teacher sits at the back of the class and watch me. Not bad i think. It was instrumental class but it`s changed to theory class. There was one particular class which was havoc! It was a class year 3 Aer. Got crying some more man i tell you! haha.. well, there were 2 boys arguing (one of which i remember the name, Tian Qi) and the full time teacher thought it got out of hand. So she scolded them and they cried. lol. And the students could only go for their break (it was break period after that class) if they finish 2 worksheets. Well, i couldn`t have my break as i was in charge of watching them finish their work and by the time the last student was finished, i only had time to prepare myself and head for the next class.

The next class was 4 Aqua. Same type of lesson. Theory. This class was not that bad. There`s this one boy whos name is Andy Lau. ANDY LAU man!!! haha.. but he`s VERY mischievous and naughty. But i was tipped that if you be good with him he wont cause much trouble. There`s this kid Fareed. Quite friendly and nice. Sometimes mischievous and cheeky too. Haha. But he`s not as bad as the Andy Lau boy. This class is a nice class :) I quite like this class. Not as "havoc-able" as the previous one. And this is the first class which i have to bring back their worksheets to mark. haha :)

The class after that was year 5 Terra. One of the "Sanest" class ever. Very easy to control, very intelligent, and very obedient. When given worksheets to do, they finished it immediately! my goodness!! and they can ask for some more worksheets when they`ve finished the previous one. All together i had to give them 3 worksheets!! Well, these worksheets were easy la i think. It was only exercises on C Major, G Major,  and F Major scales. I was talking to this one girl (can`t remember her name) and apparently she has her grade 5 in theory, piano, AND violin. =.='' haha.. i felt quite unfair for her as my lesson for the day was just like peanuts for her (and some other students too) but there were students who don`t know nuts at all. So i had to be fair and accommodate to the whole class. Then there were these 3 girls, natasha, adilia(if i spelt it correctly) and azeelia (again if i spelt it correctly) who keeps on laughing. =.='' and one likes to imitate the Janice (from the series 'Friends') laugh. So annoying. Haha. And i really don`t know what on earth they`re laughing about. Even when we meet at canteen also they`ll keep on laughing. =.='' And seriously! at the age of 11 they`re already watching Friends!! O.o  OH!!! and also.. in this class, there`s this boy with the same name as my coursemate. Only different surname. HAHA!!! my coursemate`s name is Goh Hao Tian. This boy`s name is Lee Hao Tian! haha!!! xD Then i told some of the kids and this boy too that i have a friend who will be teaching at that school too whos name is also Hao Tian. Then they kept saying "oh! so next time there will be 2 hao tians! oh my goodness! then it will be confusing!" haha!! :D

After that was year 2 Terra. The noisiest bunch of kids ever! haha.. It was vocal class and the same again, we had to come up with musical games. I have to apologise to the full time teacher who has to always come up with ideas as I totally ran out of ideas (the only ones i had was 2 which were "I want to be your friend" and "DoMikado") This class was harder to control maybe because it was a 1pm-2pm class and the kids are probably restless and can`t wait to go back already. haha.. overall the class was "quite" managable. There were these 2 kids whom i can`t remember their names again who are very clingy. Everytime we make a circle to start the game, the both of them will WANT to stand by my side. haha :) quite cute.. hehe :)

2 things i must learn:

1. To remember the names of the kids

2. more musical games. If anyone has ideas please do let me know!
