Updates
Finally my uni has paid MPO for my instrumental classes with Paul Philbert. It took them like what? 3 whole freaking months just to process a simple purchase invoice, get the pengarah to sign it and send it to the bendahari of UM and send it to MPO? Gosh! Imagine how long it takes to process something that has more things to do? like hiring a new staff? LOL!! Oh well, that aside, good to hear from Rachel that my payment finally went through. I tink she must be sien of me calling her everytime to ask about the payment. And everytime she has to reply me the same thing: "Oh, hmm.. not that i know of, but i`ll help you check yea?" lol. So finally my payment has gone through. Now what? CLASSES!! Wootzz!! Can`t wait!! :) Still have yet to call Paul to arrange for class times. Feels so exciting!! :D
2.
Choir. On the 10th October 2008, the Dithyrambic Singers will be having a performance at UCSI at 8.30pm. I think if public are interested to go, they`d have to buy tickets at i think RM10/ticket. Let me know if you readers are interested(which i doubt any of you will be. LOL!). On the 31st October 2008 there will be another performance, where it`s called the Chinese Chamber Concert, where at i still have yet to find out(=p) which it will be starting at 8pm. I have bought 5 tickets under my name. I plan to give them to my parents, sister, and evon(if they are free), which means i still have one more left. Anyone interested please let me know. Thanks :) Then on the 10th November onwards, the choir will have another performance at the KL Festival. Details still have yet been told by Mr. Lim(the choir director). Will update more on that! :) From the 7th-14th December 2008, I will be going to Singapore with the choir for another concert. Choirs from several countries will also be attending and performing in this event. Throughout my stay there, there will not only be performances, but also masterclasses to attend. Hope i can learn something new there! :) That`s all the updates so far about the choir. :)
3.
Thanks to UM`s speed in paying for my instrumental lessons, my practical exam(Pengajian Utama) will be postponed. I will only take that exam when the next semester restarts again(around 31st December 2008). My lecturer has allowed me to take it later because i haven`t started instrumental lessons yet where now is already more than half the sem.
4.
My department Music Showcase will be on the 17th October 2008. It will be held at University Malaya City Campus. It`s not located at UM itself(Don`t ask me why, ask my lecturer Dr Chong *coughtouchngocough* ), but it`s located in KL town itself. Near Bank Negara. Check map for details on location:
If you`re interested to go, please let me know! :)
5.
Evon`s not feeling well now :-( Hope she will recover soon...
6.
Tomorrow i`ll be goind Sabah to visit my brother at his place in Telaga, Pitas. Feeling quite excited about it! :) Will be going to visit his students` home too :) Eklin`s home i think. Hope it`ll be a good trip! :) Will update more on the trip when i come back!
7.
I just learnt recently of what is the hardest percussion instrument to master. It is none other than just a Simple:
Triangle. Believe you me, it`s hard to master it and get the CORRECT sound. :) A triangle has 3 different sides, and so when you strike the triangle you have to get 3 different sounds(which i can`t describe by words here) instead of one sound which just go "ding". I am dead serious. IT IS DIFFICULT TO GET THE PERFECT 3 SOUNDS. Dah lah so difficult to get ONE perfect strike on the triangle, imagine striking the triangle continuously(which is required in some orchestral pieces) and to get the perfect sound. GOSH! lol. Something so simple, yet can be so difficult.
Oh well, more updates soon! :)
cheerios ;)

EMO!!!!!
*
I went to KLCC just now to practice `cause i`ve already book room from 7.30pm - 9.30pm.. I reached there early, and asked whether su yin(my senior) wat time she finishes cause maybe i thought if she finished early then i can go in early.. Then she told me she didn`t go today for practice(hers was from 4.30pm - 7.30pm) so i headed to the MPO counter there and told them i wanted to go to the MTR(Music Training Room) for practice. So they gave me the magnetic card and the key as usual and i made my way downstairs. For me to get from the counter to the MTR, i need to use the magnetic card 3 times. So when i reached downstairs, i flashed the magnetic card onto the first door. First flash, *attempts to open the door but failed.. door couldn`t open*.. 2nd flash, the same thing happens. I heard some people talking behind the door, so i started to knock the door and one kind gentlemen helped me open the door. So i said thank you and made my way towards the 2nd door. Again i flashed the card, it couldn`t open. I flashed again and again, it still couldn`t open. So i went back to the first door where there were people there and i saw a guard there. So i decided to go and ask him for his help.
me: bang, kad ni tak boleh buka pintu.. boleh tolong saya tak?
Guard: kamu nak gih mana?(in a very LC and "like want to fight" voice tone")
me: saya nak pergi MTR. saya dah book room untuk praktis..
Guard: kamu macam mana boleh datang sini? dulu kamu nak masuk pun selalu mintak guard tolong ke? kalau tak kamu macam mana boleh masuk sini?(in the same voice tone)
me: sebelum ni tak ada masalah pun dengan kad yang saya guna.
*guard takes a look at my card*
Guard: ni kad ni DFP punya, asal kamu kat bawah sini? DFP semua selalu kat sebelah sana*points to the other direction* kamu ni buat apa di sini?(in the same voice tone)
me: selalu saya datang sini saya ikut sana punya. Rachel pun ajar saya ikut jalan ini*points to the direction where the 2nd door was*
Guard: tapi DFP semua selalunya kat sebelah sana*points again to the other side* kamu ni tak paham paham ker?
me: tapi saya memang selalu ikut sini la bang.. selalunya pun ikut sini dan selalunya kad yang saya guna tak ada masalah.
*
then the guard goes along with me to the 2nd door, takes my card, and flashes it to the door. The the door opened... i was like.. hmm.. ok.. that`s weird.. then i thought to myself maybe it wasn`t the time to use that card yet cos DFP has this system where there is one card for the public to use during working/office hours and another one during after office hours. So probably when the guard flashed the card, it was past the office hour(which i think starts from 7pm onwards only). So i kindly said thank you to the guard, and he replied me a very SARCASTIC LAN SI RACIAL COMMENT.
*
Guard: Korang CINA ni tak leh sabar nyer la....
*
WHAT THE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! blardy racist guard!!! he thought i didn`t wait a while after flashing the card then only open the door... u tink wat? it`s my 1st time there is it!?!?!? i`ve been there GAZILLION TIMES LA DUNGU!!!! OBVIOUSLY I WOULD HAVE *#&$^%* KNOWN THAT I NEEDED TO WAIT A FEW *()&^%$ SECONDS BEFORE OPENING THE DOOR!!!!! AND U HAD TO #$%^*&$ ADD THE WORD "CINA" INTO YOUR &*()$%# SENTENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks to that *&%$%#& racist, my whole mood for practice was spoiled. IDIOT!!!!
so after my practice, well although i had no mood to practice, i still HAD to practice. Dont want to waste my booking time obviously. We "CINA"`s obviously wont want to waste any precious things =.=". well anyway, after my practice, the magnetic card could function properly already. And so as i was heading out towards the lift to go back up, i saw the SAME GUARD. Oh boy the things that went into my head during that moment. Plus, when i reached the lift, i suddenly remembered i forgot to lock the door for the room. So i had to pass by the SAME GUARD again to go back, and pass by him AGAIN to go to the lift. Can you imagine? 3 times seeing the SAME FELLA(RACIST GUARD, he`s a Malay btw) with all those rush of emotions running through my mind? Gosh. I really can`t imagine what i would have done if i was an uneducated racist basket like him.
aihh.. spoil my practice time only...
EMOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh wells... latest updates, my uni has FINALLY processed the invoice and sent it to MPO. So i would be starting classes with Paul Philbert soon(Woooooooooooootttttzzzzzzzzzzz :D). Can`t wait!! :) and i have also decided that i will audition for Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra a.k.a the MPYO. :) after much thought, i guess i wouldn`t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity :) plus. i guess as for choir, my lecturer(who is the founder/director/conductor of the choir i`m in) would understand if i miss practices or performances :) still have yet to talk to him about this. lol.
oh wells then.. cheerios ;)
p.s: my apologies for the rant above.. sorry if i`ve offended anyone..
p.s.s: i`m really starting to like the choir even more!! :D

MPYO audition.. i`m still deciding whether or not to go for it.. well.. there are many reasons for not joining and the main reason is because of time. This month i joined a semi-professional choir group called the Dithyrambic Singers, aparently very famous and good(which is true after rehearsing with them) and are ranked 179 in the Musica Mundi World Ranking List - Top 1000 Choirs, and this choir requires a lot of TIMEandmoneywhere there will be performances all around. The next 3 months or so they already have 4 performances each at Singapore, Sedaya College, KL Festival and in KL(either Starhill or/and pavillion) for christmas. so... already in this short time there`s lots of performances, what more next year? So if i`m in the MPYO, even more performances?!?! i`ll die wei... plus.. i`m still studying.. 2nd year is the busiest time of my course. Even now also 2nd year 1st sem, super busy!! :S assignments shooting from every corner, practices, showcase(blergh!!), bla bla bla.. Plus, if i join the MPYO, a lot of money is required also. Close to RM200+ is required to pay for entrance fees and so on.. In the choir itself i already have to pay RM20/month for membership fees... wah.. :-s gonna pokkai man.. :-s oh well.. but i`m still very interested to join the orchestra though.. :-/ sighs... have to sacrifice lo.. maybe next year i`ll go audition when my school time table wont be that busy(3rd year!! wootzz!! =p) but if i join, i`ll really get lots of experience in an orchestra. and i`m really REALLY interested to join.. hmm... how? sigh.. closing date for applications are 15th October. really need to think carefully.. hmm... oh well..

My tutor class.. Goodness!! my lecturer has asked them to process the letter to send to MPO to purchase my class tickets with Paul Philbert like a month ago! and till now, they haven`t even sent it yet. MY GOODNESS!! =.='' since 4 WEEKS AGO WEI!!!! what the heck are the office people doing!?!? a week after my lecturer asked them to process the letter, i went to the office and asked them what`s the status, and they said "oh.. pengarah belum sign." so i tot ok.. just wait for the pengarah to sign it la.. probably will take a few more days. The next week i went to ask them the same thing, and they gave me the SAME DUMB REASON. =='' so i went to complain to my lecturer, and even my lecturer(Ms. Tan) told them "2 minggu lepas saya minta process surat, sampai sekarang belum buat? tunggu apa lagi?" and after finish talking to them, she told me that it`s out of her hands and if i dun get to start tutor class for this sem, blame it on "them". lol. My goodness, 4 weeks?!?!?! can`t they even process 1 purchase invoice and send it to MPO? wat? dun tell me the big "P" word pls. They were supposed to finish the job even before the big "P" word started ok.. =='' now? even worse!! super crap! ==''

number 2... sounds quite scary.. but hopefully it wont be...
my fear is number 3.... =s i`m really really bad at my sight reading.. sighs...
